SPAZIO

SPAZIO.
Not a void to fill, but a volume to shape
Super Tubby by L. Serafini + R. Palomba
& Luce by F. Laviani

SUPER TUBBY by Ludovica Serafini + Roberto Palomba redefines the very idea of a sofa. More than a mere seat, it becomes a domestic place: deep, soft, and welcoming, designed to be lived in naturally. Like a large cushion folded onto itself, it invites you to surrender to comfort and experience space spontaneously. Part nest, part refuge, SUPER TUBBY is the meeting point of the contemporary home—a sofa to be inhabited rather than just observed. The project stems from the designers' desire to create an upholstered piece capable of interpreting a new idea of comfort: informal, generous, and fluid. The shapes are soft and enveloping, the design deliberately essential. Details are precise and clean, while the foot becomes a decorative element that visually lightens the structure. The color palette plays on tonal harmonies and textile contrasts, helping to define a sophisticated yet immediately welcoming aesthetic. Composed of a few modular elements designed to generate ever-changing configurations, SUPER TUBBY is a system that is simple to design and even easier to live with. Its generous proportions and deep seating make it a sofa that cradles the body and invites conviviality, transforming the living area into a space for relationships and relaxation. LUCE by Ferruccio Laviani reinterprets the archetype of the suspended lamp, transforming it into an essential and contemporary design gesture. The arched structure extends into space with natural lightness, bringing light exactly where it is needed and precisely defining the illuminated area. Thanks to its configuration, LUCE generates direct light without the need for a central support, becoming an element capable of accompanying and shaping the space. Ideal for lighting tables, reading nooks, or lounge areas, it fits elegantly into various residential and contract contexts. The project is completed by a version featuring a bell shape enclosed by a glass hemisphere, a detail that amplifies the quality of light and reinforces the lamp's refined character.
