SPAZIO ARCHIVIO, MUSEO KARTELL
Milan
2026
Archives are a precious resource, capable of inspiring and influencing new generations of designers. The Museum is committed to preserving and enhancing its archive so that the innovative spirit of past projects continues to teach beauty and shape the possibilities of the future.
All cultural projects, exhibitions, publications, and educational experiences are born from the wealth of preserved materials: rediscovered drawings, sketches of objects never realized, photographs, and communication documents that recount not only the creative process but also the cultural, technological, and social context in which Kartell has operated. These carefully preserved materials constitute a living heritage that allows for an understanding of design choices, the evolution of materials and forms, and the interplay between innovation, functionality, and aesthetics that characterizes the company's production.

To provide a taste of these materials, "Archivio Pop Up" was created—an exhibition within the Museum's permanent display that showcases, on a rotating basis, a selection of original drawings and sketches, as well as photographs, house organs, and communication materials placed in dialogue with the Museum's objects. A pop-up exhibition to linger over, through which one can savor the history and passion that places Kartell among the most interesting companies, even in the field of visual communication.
